LEAGUE RULES

Rule 1 – Playing Field

6v6 Soccer is played on a 30 x 50 yard field with 4×8 feet goals.

 

Rule 2 – Players and Substitutions
All players must appear on the team roster in order to participate in sanctioned games. All rosters are finalized after week 4. Substitutions can be made “on the fly” from your teams goal line. The player being replaced must leave the field before the substitute enters. A player may exit the field only at the end line and entry must occur at the same end line. Coed games must have at least 2 women on the field at all times. Players can only play on one team per division.

 

Rule 3 – Player’s Equipment
All teams must have matching attire. Shirt, shorts, socks, shoes and shin guards.

 

Rule 4 – Duration of the Match and Scoring
Matches last fifty minutes. Teams switch sides at the half. Max 7 goal differential per game.

 

Rule 5 – Offsides
There are no offsides in DirectKix Soccer Format

 

Rule 6 – Fouls and misconduct
No slide tackling of any kind will be allowed. A player may never make contact with the ball when on the ground, even if there is no one around the play. Fighting will not be permitted. Players involved are subject to dismissal from the league. A yellow card is a two minute penalty where the team plays down a man for two minutes or until a goal is scored. A second yellow will result in an automatic ejection and the team is to play down a player for 4 minutes. Red cards are 4 minute penalties where the disciplined players team is to play down for four minutes or until 2 goals are scored. That player may not return to the match. Red cards are to be reviewed by the league committee and are subject to multiple game suspensions.

 

Rule 7 – Free Kicks, Penalties, Goal Kicks
Opposing players shall be at 5 yards from the ball until the kick is taken. All kicks are indirect. All dead balls are returned to play by kick in. Penalties are to be awarded when an infraction occurs inside the designated penalty area. Penalties will be takes for the designated mark 3/4 the distance of the field into an unprotected goal. Goal Kicks are to be taken from the defensive goal end line.

 

Playoffs and Tie Breakers – Top 4 teams per division qualify for playoffs

All Playoff games ending in a tie will go straight to a penalty shootout

Rule 1 – Field of Play – Field dimensions are 30 x 50. Goals are 4 ft. x 8 ft.

 

Rule 2 – Players and Substitutions
All players must appear on the team roster in order to participate in sanctioned games. Substitutions can be made “on the fly”. The player being replaced must leave the field before the substitute enters. A player may exit the field only at the halfway line, and entry must occur at the halfway line. Any blatant disregard of this rule that results in an odd man advantage or preventing a breakaway will be treated as unsporting behavior. Coed games must have at least 2 women on the field at all times. Players can only play on one team per division.

 

Rule 3 – Player Equipment
Turf shoes or cleats are acceptable. All players of the team must have matching uniform.

 

Rule 4 – Duration of Game and Length of Period
A game shall consist of (2) 12 minute halves. There shall be a 2 minute break between halves. Games remaining in a tie at the end of group play will remain so.  If a game is tied at the end of a knock out match, the teams shall proceed to penalty kicks. 3 shooters per side.

 

Rule 5 – Scoring – In Designated Coed tournaments, Male goals are worth one point whereas Female goals are worth 2 pts.

 

Rule 6 – Offside – There is no offside in 6v6  format

Rule 8 Free Kicks – Opposing players shall be at least 5 yards from the ball until the kick is taken. All kicks are indirect. Ball is returned to play by kick in.

 

Rule 9 – Penalty Kicks
A penalty kick shall be awarded when a defending player makes an infraction in the designated penalty area. The kick shall be taken at the designated penalty area, a distance 3/4 of the field away into an open goal. Knock Out stage games ending in a tie will go straight to PK’s, PKs are shot at a 3 player format.

 

Rule 10– Goal Kicks
A goal kick shall be taken from inside the penalty area .  A goal kick may cross the halfway line before touching another player.
